Being known for a beer geek at my corporate office in Kalamazoo, Michigan, (yes its real) I was told about this little place called Big T's in the small town of Lawton just a few miles down the highway.

Located off of the main street in Lawton, Big T's appears from the outside to be just another place on the old 1940's strip, main street USA. I found myself questioning that this was the "best" place around if you like beers. Im not one to walk away form first impressions of a bar so I ventured in.

Really glad I did. Behind the wooden horseshoe bar was multiple glass coolers. My jaw literally dropped at the sight. They had to have 250 different bottled beers from all over. Some of them I had heard of but never had the chance to try (our good old Texas liqour laws keep our selections miserably low. Some I had never heard of. TO go into the entire menu here would be difficult, but let me just say that they had a Belgian beer selection un-rivaled by anything I had seen. They even have a selection of Flanders Red and Brown ales, gueze, berliner weisse! Many commercial examples of beers I've made but never been able to try for myself.

They have a drinking club and all the beer is available for take out, so you don't have to sit there and stare at the coolers, (which can be dangerous), but I recommend you do.

Big T's is a restaurant as well, with a wide selection of food. From fried Blue Gill to jalapeno cheese soup, to burgers, the food is excellent.

If you are in the area, or even if you aren't, stop by Big T's. Its an experience you will not soon forget.
