This is a restaurant that brews beer. The tanks are right out front and look nice sitting where they are. While everything in the place looks very nice, the focus appears to be on the restaurant and beer seems to take a back seat. They had six beers on tap which we had in the sampler for $7.50; pints are $4.50 and 10 ouncers are $3.00. They have growlers to go and also sell 1/4 and 1/2 barrels. The food was pretty good. They have parking on site, Wi-Fi, and large dining area with semi-private event rooms. The whole place is no smoking. The beers were good but all seemed to be a bit low on the IBU scale. Our side of the restaurant was not very crowded but the service was still slow.

I traveled to Nashville on business and upon arriving looked for a brewpub for dinner. The previous reviews are spot on. I enjoyed all the brews here, especially the Porter. I wasn't too hungry so I just had the Caesar salad which was exactly what I expected, just good, not spectacular. The next day while visiting my customer, they took me back for lunch. I had a wonderful burger while the other two had (and raved about) the fish and chips. After they described their meal I will order that the next time I go back. Blackstones is a nice joint with moderate pricing on everything from beers to entrees, and a decent atmosphere to boot. The beer selection was only 6 or so entries, but was good enough to span over several styles. The atmosphere was a bit noisy, but not overly so and the ability to maintain a conversation was maintained.

The food was very good, but not quite to the level of excellent. The service was spot on and only minor flaws, if any, could be noted.

I'd certainly go back to Blackstone, as I have many times before. Do not hesitate to give them a whirl.

Located right on west end with ample parking, about 5 minutes from downtown. You can see the large fermenters from the street. Beers are consistently good, the porter is probably the best of the regular beers available. A cask ale is available all of the time too. They have been known to do some small batches with whiskey barrels in the past.

The head brewer here is Dave Miller, renowned brewer and author of some excellent homebrewing books.
