It started in 1993 & in 1 year, they had won a Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival, a Colorado tradition for a Colorado beer.

Now, they've opened their "dream" brewery and continue to brew outstanding beer.

If you've tasted Mephistopheles or Hog Heaven, the Czar or The Reverend, Vanilla Bean Stout, Samael's, The Beast, Uncle Jacob's Stout, Rumpkin, Pump(KY)n....and the list still goes on...you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Normally I will write a great deal about a brewery...but with Avery, there just isn't much to say except this; if you can get it, any of their brews, do so. From hop-head heaven, to the deepest, darkest, sweetest, maltiest, thickest, roastiest black stout....you will not be un-happy.

Their new brewery is an open area so you can watch the "action" -- the beer being canned, organized, distributed...the crowded brewpub pretends to be too busy...but our 1st flight got to us within 2 minutes of our order, the 2nd flight within 5 and once wife Persimmon gave them a "hand - heart", 3 of the services were at our table within 1 minute answering her with the same gesture. Whoever taught them customer service, should be give a Gold Medal as well.

Avery is one of the best in the country. And as a friend of mine once said; "there's just nothing wrong with that."

Nope. There sure isn't
