I've wanted to visit for a few weeks, but their hours are typically only from 5-730 on Friday nights so its a bit difficult to get there. Today I found they were open on a Saturday as part of Queens Beer Week, so I headed over.

This is a very small (1000 sq ft) brewery in an industrial area of Long Island City. They make small batches and have never brewed the same beer twice - they've made about 120 in the 16 months they've been open. They started today with about 10 beers available for sale, and 2 others for tastings. Both of the beers I tasted were very good (the vanilla brown ale that they didn't end up selling because it was overcarbonated was my favorite of the two). I came away purchasing a bottle of Pomegranate Stout, which i'm looking forward to trying. All their beer is sold in 750ml bottles for $18. My gripe with beer selection is that all their beers are a bit zany, so it's not for your typical after-work beer drinker.

The biggest drawback is that they have a tough time keeping up with demand due to the small batches. But they have plans to expand into the neighboring building later this year and should be able to increase production by the start of 2015.
