This made for a long day trip from the Western side of Long Island, and the roads in the Hamptons / Montauk area are slow and narrow. If you're going to the Montauk area for this brewery, be sure to check out some of the other local attractions (depending on the season) to make the trip worthwhile.

The brewery is located across from a little league baseball field, and was formerly a woodworking shop belonging to the father of one of the 3 owners. Parking wasn't difficult, but may be more difficult during the summer months. They serve 3 beers, with the Driftwood Ale being their flagship. They're currently in the process of building up their brewing capabilities locally.

Montauk, at the far east end of Long Island, was first settled in 1660 and is today a popular summer destination. It's quite a drive to get here, but if you're exploring Long Island, it is scenic to visit the lighthouse and city of Montauk. The brewery tasting room was founded in 2012 and occupies a two-story building across from a park. There is ample space for parking in the park's lot, which is just a block off the main street through town. It is a small, quaint, red wooden building. In front they have a brick patio with a flagpole and three wooden picnic tables. Inside, their tasting room has just 2 high-top tables and a 4-chair copper-topped wooden bar. The walls are decorated with some art and brewery memorabilia for sale. A whiteboard behind the bar lists their 4 house beer on tap, which are available by sampler flight and growlers to go. My favorites were their IPA and Stout. They do not sell their canned beer here, but it is available in stores nearby. There are pallets of kegs in back, but as of mid-2014 this is not yet actually a production brewery. Their brewhouse is still under construction, and for now they contract brew their kegs in Cooperstown NY, and brew their canned beer in Massachusetts. The tasting room does not have a kitchen, but there are many delicious places to eat within walking distance. The service is friendly and the place has a relaxed casual atmosphere. A visit to Montauk is memorable.
