Forge Beer Works is in a hard to find location in the industrial part of Lorton, VA. The brewery is on the end of a brick building housing other businesses but finding the location is well worth the search. The taproom is rustic/industrial with a few high tables, seats and a spacious bar. On the day that I visited there were 13 beers on tap. They ran the gamut from farmhouse Saisons to Imperial Stouts. I had a flight of 4; 2 IPAs, a double IPA and a Oatmeal Stout. My non-beer loving wife was talked into a double bock - The Kelsenator – to drink with her food truck lunch. The double bock was hands down the best beer that we sampled today. It was sweet and earthy, my wife enjoyed it and that is high praise. All of the beers are solid and this would be a great place to unwind after a day’s work. The taproom is kid and dog friendly as evidenced by several groups with pups and toddlers.
