An old favorite. I used to live right across the street and every time I visit NY I stop by. A relatively small place with very good food, specializing in some exotic wild game as well as tasty but diverse traditional fare. Service is good but can get very busy indeed most evenings. Many people come for the food selection itself as their chef clearly cares about what he's making.

The beer selection is excellent. Typically 20+ different beers on tap, mostly domestic micro-brews but many international choices and a healthy list of bottles. All the beers are listed up on two blackboards as are the many food specials. The staff is usually quite knowledgeable about the beers they serve and there's always a nice beer special for $4/pint.

I miss the place very much.

My wife and I live right around the corner from the Waterfront and go here quite often. The food is good to excellent depending on the dish (my favorites are the shrimp and chips or the french onion soup).

They do have a good sized draft selection though often they are drafts of beers you can find in other beer bars in the city. A few more unique choices would be nice but that is only a minor concern. Overall this place is well worth visitng.
