Situated on the high plains, Cheyenne is Wyoming's largest city, with almost 65,000 residents. It is home to two breweries located just a couple blocks apart, and parking is free along the street. Cheyenne Brewing opened in spring 2015, a reincarnation of a brewpub called Shadows Pub. It is located at the far end of the historical old train depot building. The large building is constructed of orange and gray stone and has a five story and call clock tower. There is plenty of pavilion seating out front, as well as patio seating near the railroad tracks in back past the bar area. Also out back is a wide steel grain silo. As you enter, the brewhouse with copper brewing vessels is on the right. On the left is a partitioned room with several stainless steel fermenters and serving tanks. In front is a dining area, and further back is the bar room. It has an angled 16-chair stainless steel topped bar. The floor is tile, and the high ceiling is a painted wood beam grid with hanging fans and lights. The grey walls are trimmed with timber, and there are several wagon wheels incorporated into the partitions. Over the bar is a large chalkboards listing their beer on tap. They have just 4 house beers, which are available by glass, sampler flight, or growler. My favorite was their Chocolate Stout (12%). They also feature a half dozen guest craft brews on tap. Their simple food menu consists of nachos, salads, and burgers. The staff is welcoming and cheerful. The place echoes with passing trains, casual conversations, and modern rock music. There are many muted televisions for sports. At the end of the building is a game room with a couple pool tables, a couple dartboards, skeeball, and jenga. It is a nice place to hang out with friends, enjoy some pub snacks and libations.
