3rd Wave Brewery purchased the facilities formerly used by Evolution Brewery, shortly after they moved south to a new larger building in 2012. This location is near the MD-DE state line on the Delmarva peninsula, so it's a bit of a drive, but with two breweries in the area it's definitely worth the trip to visit both. The building is corrugated steel and has a dedicated parking lot. The clean, tidy tasting room is rather small, but seems popular. The room has bright neon lights and is painted in Delmarva High School's blue and orange colors which are refreshingly energetic. There is no food service, and the brewery staff runs the tasting room. The brewing equipment is visible through a window behind their 14 chair wooden bar. Their variety of 7 beers are available by pint, sampler flight, or growler, and include Shorebreak Pale Ale, Big Reef Porter, Dark Wave Dunkelweizen, Cloudbreak Boysenberry Wheat, Chunkin Punkin Ale, 1st Wave IPA, and Bombora Double IPA (7.5%). Except for the DIPA, the beers are relatively tame, but drinkable. Given the steady growth of the craft beer industry, I believe this place is off to a good start and will do well.
