Located about 20 minutes north of Philly, it is not an especially convenient hotspot, but is definitely worth the drive for their impressive beers. The Neshaminy Creek brewery is a one story orange brick building located in a light-industrial and residential area. They have dedicated parking in front just past their two tall beige grain silos. When they first opened their original tasting room a couple years after being founded in 2010, they had just a very small room with a walk-up bar and 6 taps. They've expanded considerably since then and now have a much larger tasting room. This popular craft brewery has done well to infiltrate the terrific Philly craft beer scene, and has developed a loyal following. Their beers are very flavorful and well-crafted and the brewers take great pride in showcasing the best features of each style. On my first visit, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about craft beer, and graciously offered me a tour of the brewhouse floor. The spacious brewhouse is a warehouse with their 15 bbl stainless steel brewing vessels on the left. Further ahead is a farm of 30 bbl stainless steel fermenters, which has expanded to a count of 15 by my latest visit. The brewhouse also has plenty of space for raw material storage, a wooden foeder tank, pallets of kegs, and a small half-dozen bottle bottling line. They've been so popular, they are known to run out of growlers, cans, or a particular beer on tap. They have 10 beers on tap which are available by glass or sampler flight, and they also occasionally sell specialty 22 ounce bottles. Their excellent offerings includes robust Mudbank Milk Stout (6.5%), amazingly flavorful Leon Imperial Smores Stout (11.5%), Tribute Tripel (9.3%), and County Line IPA (6.6%). Their more average beers include Croydon Cream Ale, Trauger Pilsner, and Dunks Ferry Dunkelweizen. The spacious tasting room has a large retractable garage door which opens toward the front parking lot. On the right is a 13-chair wooden bar in front of a small cold room with 16 tap handles. The place is decorated with brewery stickers, mural artwork on the white walls, and various flags hanging below the high metal ceiling. There is a television and projector for sports, and loud rock music is playing. They do not have a kitchen. There are a dozen wooden picnic tables and on the left are plenty of games to play. They have foosball, a pool table, air hockey, and a half-dozen old video arcade games. The place has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. This brewery has seen steady growth since its inception, and I highly recommend a visit to try their delicious beers.
