One of several Winking Lizard locations in the greater NE Ohio area, this may (?) be the original but not sure. Regardless, the Winking Lizard locations were the restaurants at the forefront of the craft beer movement in the greater Akron-Cleveland area. The Lizard hosts an annual beer tour with participants given the wonderful task of sampling a hundred or so of the restaurants beers from all over the globe in order to win the coveted Tour Jacket and other prizes. Hard to find a chain that offering more craft beer (at the moment) than the "Lizard."

The Peninsula location sits next to the Towpath trail in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The towpath being one of the best bike/hike trails in the state with the Cuyahoga Valley RR depot literally in their backyard. FYI - the CVRR also hosts ales on rails several times a year - so check out the Cuyahoga Valley National Park site for this and other events.

Anyway, the food at the Lizard is nicely above average with wings, burgers, salads and pizza. The beer list is extensive with multiple craft beers on an ever-rotating tap list. An outdoor patio is nice and the atmosphere inside is great with a big bar and multiple TV's for watching sports - Cleveland's Cavs, Indians and Browns of course. Service is always decent and I've had few complaints over the years with either the food or service. You can't beat the beer selection or the chance to sit outside on the patio after a couple hours of biking or hiking on the Towpath thru the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley.
