I stopped by recently and discovered that Waimea Brewing is no longer operating. It is expected to re-open as Kauai Island Brewing Co located in Port Allen.
This location is still in operation as a beer bar, currently serving a selection of brews from Kona and Maui brewing companies. When I visited there were 8 taps that included a range of styles from each brewery. They plan to offer Kauai brews as well when they become available.
The bar/restaurant layout is still the same as described by a previous reviewer:
Chuckee: "This place is right on the main highway going to the Waimea Canyon, and easy to miss if not careful. At first glance, the building could be for a real estate office or something.
Walking through the front door, the bar is about 10’ in front of you. If you turn to the left, there’s outdoor seating… maybe 8 or 10 tables."
We did not sample the current food selection but what we saw seemed to be a step up from standard pub fare.
