Falling Sky Brewery, Eugene, Oregon

This is a typical college town atmosphere, not too far from the University of Oregon. I like these Oregon breweries that let you pick which beers and how many you want in a sampler. Here you write them on paper and they serve them that way on the sampler tray. The first beer was the Bare Hands NW Bitter.....an English Pale ale with nice body and mouthfeel and a good hop presence and good flavor too. Then I tried the Goal Keeper English IPA, this beer has a creamy mouthfeel and mild hoppiness, a good session beer, it was inspired by the recent World Cup Soccer won by Germany. Then I tried the Biopiracy Best Bitter, this is a good light beer with moderate hop flavor and good maltiness, this beer is 100% organic. The next beer was a rye pale ale, another 100% organic beer, mild hop flavor and maltiness, a good session beer. The next beer was the Hey Hay Ipa, this beer has a good hop aroma and flavor. The last beer I tried was the Red Rye't Hand Lager, copper in color, nice maltiness and a very good rye and hop presence....All these beers were good. I will have to come back again and sample the rest.

We had a sliced beef sandwich and potato salad which were both good.

This is a small tucked away brewery but worth the stop if you are in the area. They have coasters and pint glasses. Visited 7/19/2014.

Falling Sky is in downtown Eugene, Oregon and is fairly new. There's a parking lot in the back.

They have a large selection of beers, so i had no choice but to go for the flight. They give you a piece of paper, you write you 6 beers on there, and they make your flight to order - much preferred over the breweries that pre-select the beers for you. The flight also comes in a cloud shaped holder, which is a nice touch.

The bartenders were really friendly even though I expected them to get grumpy about 3 guys ordering flights when they were fairly busy, but they didn't seem to mind. All the beers I had were very good, and the flavors and names were interesting (such as the beer inspired by the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy).

Overall, a real fun place to visit, and a very good new brewery.
