My first review of this location was (6/2009) based on a lunch stop that was not a good experience. I found myself back in the area for the evening recently (11/2010) and decided to give it another go, I can't give up on beer! This time around the food and service were great. I don't know if it was me who changed or the place, but I was impressed and compelled to update my review.

The food was really amazing, from the appetizer to the burger I had. The choices were good and it all seemed fresh. As for beer I tried the pale and a porter while there and both were well balanced leaning to the thin side. If ever back through here again, I will probably make another stop. Not the best, but a good choice for Rock Springs.

Colorado Road Trip – 2006
After trying to find this place for 30 minutes we finally found it. The roads where messed up so it was hard to find. The staff on the other hand had not a clue about the beer and where slow as ever. I realize we have choices but in Rock Springs not many. The place was nice but hard to see the PBR miners get into this type of beer. I would stop and see it if in Rock Springs, but if you can get somewhere else keep on going.

The brewing tanks are right inside the front windows at Bitter Creek Brewing. The fermenters run down the center, separating the bar and a small dining area from the main dining area back of the brewery. There are seven standards on the tap list and there may have been an additional seasonal but the waitress was not well versed on the house beers. I selected the Wee Bastard Scottish Ale and a Coal Porter from the printed list and enjoyed both. The lunch menu included salads, pizza, pasta and sandwiches. We were lucky to find on-street parking right out front but we also saw a public lot about a block away.

On a long drive to Montana from Arizona, I just stumbled across this place while driving through Downtown Rock Springs. Being that Rock Springs is possibly the most butt-ugly town in the country, I didn't expect much, but I ended up being impressed.
Pretty generic selection (pale, porter, stout, wheat, Scottish, light), but the ones I tried were pretty good. I especially liked the red, which wasn't too light and had plenty of flavor.
The place itself looks like a typical brewpub with its sides cut off so that it's half the size. So, there isn't much seating, and part of the brewery is in the middle of the floor, which is a little strange. It's nice for Rock Springs standards, but gritty enough for my tastes.
Be aware that the place is closed on Sunday, which is why I've only been once.
