City Tap House is located in Philadelphia's University City on the 2nd floor of the Radian Apartment Building. This tall, angular black corrugated steel building is an impressive site. To access City Tap House, ascend concrete stairs to their 2nd floor balcony entrance. The restaurant is spacious, with a huge 50-chair copper-top island bar, surrounded several small tables. Multiple overhead flat screen televisions provide a constant stream of sports and news. Wooden beams, wood-tiled wall and ceiling panels, and stone masonry patio, all give a warm rustic feel to this otherwise very modern restaurant. The adjacent dining room's focal point is a central wooden column with overhead hub and spoke design. The flanking patio has several umbrella topped tables and overlooks a flower garden. The bar has 60 taps for draft beer, including bar standards plus a good selection of regional craft beers. For beer hunters, a nice option is to create your own sampler flight of four beers for $15. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
