The entrance to the Domaine Hudson wine bar and restaurant is nestled between two 3-story buildings, with an angled black and white sign facing the sidewalk. Park along the street or in the nearby hospital lot during evening. This area of Wilmington is a good dinner hotspot, with the Washington Street Alehouse and Mikimotos sushi nearby. Ascend a few stairs to enter the Domaine Hudson dining room, with wooden dining tables on the right, and an additional small dining room in the back. The decor is upscale with wooden floors with red carpets, red walls with horse themed artwork, and a low ceiling with warm lighting. Their 10 chair marble top bar is on the left. It is mirror backed and well stocked with an excellent selection of liquors. They have no beer on tap, but they have about two dozen choice crafts in bottles, a mix of domestic and imports. This place doesn't really meet today's standards for a craft beer bar, but it is a fine place for upscale cuisine and wine. The food is superb with carefully prepared appetizers and entrees which rotate frequently, featuring a variety of meats and seafood. Wine is available by small pours and sampler flights, and they encourage patrons to savor well-chosen pairings. The service is professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. This is a fine place for a relaxed, engaging meal.
