Rock Bottom is a chain of (as of 2011) 34 brewpub restaurants across the US. They consistently produce a good variety of high quality beers. A typical sampler at Rock Bottom includes: light Kolsch, crisp Gold ale, relatively mild Belgian White Ale, robust Red Ale, Brown Ale (usually Molly's Titanic), Milk Stout, Pale Ale (names vary), and hoppy India Pale Ale. I visited the DEN Airport location before departing following 2011 & 2013 GABF. The Denver airport has more brewpubs (taprooms really, since they don't actually brew there) than any other airport I've visited, and you can create your own veritable beerfest just by exploring the terminals!

Rock Bottom is located in Concourse C, with an exterior stone mason facade and their dark red sign overhead. Inside on the right is a long L-shaped 14-chair wooden bar. On the left is a cramped dining room, with windows that look across the tarmac to Concourse B. The decor is cozy with warm lighting and low ceiling, and there are televisions for sports or news. This Rock Bottom has just 4 house beers on tap (brewed at their Westminster location), plus a few of common guest taps, so it is a lesser offering compared to the diversity of other Rock Bottoms. I was happy for the option to have a sampler flight of their brews. The service was friendly and the bartenders were knowledgeable enough about their beers. Their food menu is pub fare with a few appetizers, salads, and sandwiches, and the kitchen is fast. Get to the airport early, my friends, and visit Rock Bottom for decent beer.

When you compare this Rock Bottom to the others that I've visited, it really doesn't come close to a non-airport version.

BUT when you compare it to other airport bars I have visited, it trumps most. There were 4 craft brewed beers available on tap that were probably brewed at the Denver location (same names, but I didn't ask).

We stopped here around 9:30 am for some breakfast while waiting to go sit on a plane, and they were already serving pints and bloody marys to almost everyone in the bar. I got a pale and my wife tried the brown. Both were solid and tasty. Our food wasn't terribly exciting, but it was good enough. And because we had to wait for a bit, the waitress decided on her own to comp our tab.

I felt that this bar was definitely worth a stop if you have some time to kill in Denver International. If you are in Concourse C, even better!
