Evolution Craft Brewing is located near the MD-DE state line on the Delmarva peninsula, so it's a bit of a drive to visit the brewery. Fortunately, Evolution beers can be found on tap in many regional locations, and also in bottles. In April 2012, Evolution Brewing moved a few miles south from Delmar, DE to Salisbury, MD. While the Delmar tasting room was rather small, their beautiful new Salisbury facilities are spacious and impressive. The building is a large warehouse with corrugated steel siding. Park in the gravel parking lot near the large concrete front patio which has several tables. On the right is their small Tasting Room, which has a simple 10 chair wooden bar and a few high top tables, and this is also where brewery tours begin. On the left of the building is their larger Pub, which has a bar area and an adjacent dining room with plenty of tables. The food menu includes, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and hearty red meat centric entrees. The service was not outgoing, but was approachable. The Pub has a long 18 chair wooden bar and a brick wall where the beer offering is posted. They have draft beers of excellent variety, and you can order full pours, growlers, or 4-beer sampler flights. Their product line includes Exile ESB, Haymaker Strong Ale (7.8%), Lot #3 IPA, Lot #6 Double IPA (8.5%), Lucky 7 Porter, Primal Pale Ale, Rise Up Coffee Stout, and a delicious line of Menagerie Ales (such as Scotch or Belgian styles) aged in a variety of barrels (such as Bourbon or Wine). Evolution is a fully matured brewery, with refined, well-crafted beers from honed recipes.
