Location is a nice bike ride from light rail,Watch out for the sacramento police bike patrol, do not ride your bike in the mall...it is a $225 fine. Wednesday $3 pints Might make me a regular. Beer is above average although a little light for my taste ... Good seasonal beers that they should make year round. solid food and location. beer tenders proud of their brew. Mini kegs available for $30 a little pricey and they will not fill it with their seasonal IPA :(

Located very convinient in a downtown outside mall. There is a parking garage next door which they will validate for you.

Had 6 beers in their sampler, the best two seemed to be the vienna and stout, the IPA was a litte weak for a CA IPA. The others were pretty unmemorable.

They had a grilled chicken pizza special that was good. The burger was pretty good, their own version of a Big Mac basically, much better however.

Great place! The wait staff was great and loved the idea that I was on a brew tour of Sacramento. We ordered the sampler which came with 6 beers, than our waitress gave us each two more to support the cause. The beers were great as well, my fav was the Black River Stout. Out of the 8 beers we tried I could drink this one all day long!!
We also ordered some food while we were there. The pizza was great! Not to minchen the onion rings!! OMG!!!

Located at the west end of the Downtown Plaza shopping mall, River City Brewing Co is just a short walk from Old Sacramento. There is a comfortable bar area with adjacent tall tables. Dining tables surround the central stairway or cluster near the large window that looks onto outside patio seating on the mall. Brewing tanks can be seen through a glass wall behind the bar. There were 9 house brews on tap when I visited plus a house Bitter on cask. I enjoyed both the Black River Stout and the Wooden Head Ale (a hoppy amber with 7% ABV). The menu includes a decent selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and pizza plus several unusual entrees (such as Lamb Tenderloin). Park in the Plaza garage (the mapped location) and they’ll validate your ticket or catch light rail to the 7th & Capitol station then walk about 4 blocks toward Old Sacramento.
