This is my hometown Mellow and one of my favorites. It's helping bring life to Elm St. on the south side of the tracks.

The interior is spacious and the bar is along the left wall. This Mellow is nicely decorated. Not funky like Asheville or Boone, but not sterile like Winston-Salem.

The 32 taps currently carry 4 DIPAs and 3 IPAs among them. There is a wide variety of quality beer here. Whitney, Daniel, and Jess are prompt and courteous. You should ask for a room temp glass. Prices are reasonable and pitchers are available (even DIPAs and big stouts)

The food here is always good. I like the jerk chicken sandwich and their pies.

Smoking is allowed at the bar, which is the one big negative for me and the reason for deduction on atmosphere score.
