Doc Watson's is a very solid bar in the SW quadrant of Toledo. It's set in a strip mall at the corner of Byrne & Glendale. The restaurant is divided in two with the rectangular bar in the center. The left room was originally offset as the smoking area. The whole interior is dimly lit with a neighborhood bar kind of feel.

Doc's food menu has plenty of options. There is the standard bar fare, but there are surprises. My most recent visit, I had the Rasta Philly sandwich, a jerked chicken sub with a good spicy flavor, but could have been a little hotter for my tastes. Other items that caught my eye included greek spaghetti, hot/cold dip, gyros, prime rib, and pita pizzas. There's definitely a greek influence, but I wouldn't call this a greek restaurant.

The beer selection is among the best in Toledo. On my most recent stop, Great Lakes Independence Ale was the biggest surprise. Doc's always seems to have something from Great Lakes that nobody else in town has. In any other town, this would be just another decent bar. In Toledo, it qualifies as a beer bar. Stop in when your visiting Toledo.
