Hudson “new american public house” has been open less than one week, but if the response on a Friday night is anything to go by, it will have plenty of customers. The bar is oak and has two sides for sitting. The floors are also oak. The walls and ceiling are brown, except for one long brick wall on the south side. Aside from the bar, there are mostly small tables throughout and children are allowed along one side.

There are 16 beers on tap, mostly local (Washington) but a few from California and Colorado (and a few mainstream choices). The selection is innovative and should allow for anyone to find at least a couple beers they want to try. The price is higher than the norm for this area, however. Liquor is also available.

The vibe is young and seemed a bit trendy but it is still early days. On our visit the music was quite loud.

The food menu is short but quite upscale and pricey (e.g., crab salad: Dungeness crab & watercress with old bay almonds & blood orange vinaigrette and supremes). We only tried one appetizer. It was good, but not enough to give a food rating.
