I used to go to this bar all the time when it was called Zack's and under different management. It was a great hole-in-the-wall bar with half price burger and pitcher specials. Unfortunately, the rent got too high and Zack had to leave. (Zack later went on to operate the Greek Taverna up Penn Ave, before Spike took it over to expand his feifdom.)

New management came in and remodeled the place (including removing the pine tree car air fresheners from the urinals). The result is the 18th Amendment, not a bad bar but nothing remarkable when it comes to atmosphere. They do have a good beer selection, with Hoegarden and other good beers on tap.

I haven't eaten there since it became 18th Amendment, so I can't comment on the food.

While I miss the cheap beer and burgers I enjoyed in my early 20's, this place has grown up, just like I should have.

An OK bar if you're in the neighborhood, but not really anything to go out of your way to visit.
