The only change may be Resi's Bierstube which does not open until 3 p.m. No big deal having an extra bier at Laschet's

Letís drink our way through the St. Bens & Lincoln Square neighborhoods and take advantage of the wonderful Gemutlichkeit that these fine neighborhood establishments offer.
The date is Saturday June 1st. We will kick off the festivities at 1:30 p.m. at Laschet's Inn located (2119 W. Irving Park Road). Optional start time at noon if you want to enjoy some of their tasty German food.
At 2:30 or so, we will dodge traffic as we venture to the north side of the Irving Park and head to Resi's Bierstube (2034 W. Irving Park). Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can spend some time in the Beer Garten.
We will shoot to arrive by 4:00 at our next destination, Glunz Bavarian House (4128 N. Lincoln).
After that there are several options on Lincoln: The Bad Apple, Fiddlehead Cafe, Graftons, Tiny Lounge, Wild Goose, Fountainhead... or do we just jump in a taxi (or on the #11 Lincoln bus) and head directly to Lincoln Square?
At Lincoln Square we will have a host of choices. There is the Chicago Brauhaus (4732 N. Lincoln) the Huettenbar & the Chicago Ale House.
Last and certainly not least, the various German Clubs are sponsoring a large May Fest right in Lincoln Square. They will have free live entertainment, good food, etc. http://www.mayfestchicago.com/
So what do you say? Break out the Lederhosen and let's go!!
Didn't want to steal Redrover's thunder, but the date is only a few weeks away!
Please post in here if you're planning to attend...

I'm going to be back on the mainland for a while. Looking forward to making the rounds of some old haunts as well as checking out some newer locations. After the islands, this will be craft brew paradise.

Missed this again this year It's been way too long since I've made it up for Black Party.
Hopefully next year I can find a way to make it happen.

Have been out of the loop on here as well myself. Little Marshall has been taking up most of my time...can't believe he will already be 7 months on May 1st.
Anyway, we have penciled in June 1st for German Crawl as Heather is really looking forward to it.
Any other CTA crawls that come up along the way we will try our best to make it to. Hope everyone is doing well out there

World of Beer Festival - 10th Anniversary!
MILWAUKEE, WI Ė The Beer Barons of Milwaukee homebrewing and beer enthusiast club present the 10th anniversary World of Beer Festival. The festival has become the Milwaukee areaís premier festival celebrating beer and brewing. This is a great opportunity to taste more than 200 beers from the US and around the world including rare and limited availability beers that will be served as special releases. All beers are hand picked by the members of the Beer Barons and reflect their inner beer geek! In addition to the beer, we also have a mead (honey based wine) and hard cider area as well as gourmet sodas from a variety of vendors.
There are short presentations on different aspects of beer, brewing, and cooking with beer by well-known authors as well as live homebrewing demonstrations for brewers of all levels.
Homebrewing ingredients, techniques, and equipment will be on display and discussed with plenty of opportunity for questions from basic extract brewing through advanced all-grain brewing.
The event will take place at The Schwabenhof Pavilion, at 14750 W Silver Spring Dr. in Menomonee Falls, WI on June 1, 2013 and is open from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.. The cost for the event is $40 in advance, $60 VIB admission includes additional limited beers. Designated drivers get free admission and complimentary soda will be available from several vendors. I don't think I've been on this board in months! Sorry guys! CTA crawl has always been my favorite. We've been pretty much out of the loop for awhile. Deb took a job down in Louisville, so it's just me here in Crown Point 5 days a week. Weekends get pretty crazy trying to keep up with family and friends while Deb is home, and also getting the house into sale-able shape. I figure if we can sell the place, I'll just quit my job and move down there with her. Hopefully find a job at a brewery once I'm there. We would love to get together with our beer loving friends, but long range planning is pretty rough at the moment.
Bill, I'll respond to your private message shortly.
Sorry the crawl fizzled!

Out for the 13th, possibly in for the 6th, and maybe after-work outings or "simply sit in one place some weekend" outings might work better as a rule! Though, whenever a free weekend and the German crawl coincide, i'm there!
