One comment caught my attention: "... craft beer now represents thirty per cent of Costco’s beer sales." I have mixed feeling about that but have to admit it's convenient for Costco shoppers like me. I'm still resisting adding Costco "Beer Stores" to the project. It just doesn't seem right. :?:
It has been mentioned a clutch of times that you do not have to be a member of Costco (or any other warehouse club) in order to purchase beer, wine, or spirits at Costco. State licensing laws prohibit that. :0

OK, people. This is Steve De Rose. A few months back, when I was still orbiting around the Exit 'punk rock' bar on west North Ave., we had a raffle to help local erotic performer Maya Sinstress pay her medical bills (She was assaulted by a canine in someone's apartment!). I donated a Japanese Adult Video, and bought raffle tickets.
There were lots of items given to the raffle. My JAV was not the most extreme prize available. Those were provided by somebody named Bosco, with whom I was familiar, but thought he had dropped out of the business (or was incarcerated) by now. :siren:
Fortunately, I did not win any of the items donated by Bosco. What I won was a certificate from Mike Miller of Delilah's entitling me, and forty-nine of my "friends" {as if I have any} to a fantastic beer blast for two hours. :monoclebeer:

I have set the date and time for it for Wednesday, 14 August, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm (19:00-21:00 hours [GMT - 6]).

I am composing a list of the people who want to attend this. If you would like to do so, please send me an e-mail off the forum [beerblast2.pudgym29 @ xoxy.net]. I pledge to not sell, swap, or give away your e-mail address without your explicit written permission.

Here's a couple more:

- Skytop Steakhouse and Brewing Company no longer brews their own beer (although the name is still "... and Brewing Company").  It should be changed to a beer bar.
- Captain Lawrence Brewery relocated.  New address is:
       444 Saw Mill River Rd.
       Elmsford, NY 10523

Thanks for taking care of these,
Mike

Here are some of the big corrections that I can remember.  I've submitted a bunch of minor corrections and new website addresses but I guess those are in a black hole somewhere.

Watershed [loc. 16574] - Grossly misplaced, should be 15 mi. East in Chicago.
Old Chicago [loc. 9702] - Closed
Scotland Yard [loc. 1565] - Closed

Thanks for getting to these.  I'm glad that someone is helping to maintain the integrity of the maps.

I just reported this on but Southern Star Brewery is also not placed in the right location on the map.  The address is correct but the coordinates are actually 30.346722, -95.432831.

I fixed the wrong places on map ones, and the address changed ones.  The Sebago one got modified even more since they don't brew at those locations anymore and it's all brewed in a central location, I updated them all to be beer bars and added one or two that were missing.

Fort Collins also was added as a new location since there were reviews on the old one, and to keep the reviews correct with the correct location, a new one is opened.

I'll look into the closed locations too, later today.

I don't get any of the reports about edits, but I have rights to modify the data, so I'm willing to edit anything that needs to be.

I too am willing to donate some time to make database corrections if the Admins need help.  The pattern I've noticed is that the site Admins are very good about adding new locations, but are slow to correct map locations, address, or to show a place closed.  I've just assumed they are busy, because I've seen the same concern posted in the forum before.  I'm sure too they'd like to vet changes for accuracy before implementing.  But perhaps there is something wrong with the error submission form?  I've kept a list errors, so that I don't mistakenly drive to a location that I know to mis-mapped or closed.

Wrong Place on Map:
Lefty's Brewing Co
J.F. Walleye's
Sherwood Forest Brewers

Address Changed:
Sebago Brewing Co (locid 1182) relocated to 211 Fore Street, Portland, ME 04101
Fort Collins Brewery (locid 457) relocated to 1020 East Lincoln Avenue, Fort Collins, CO 80524

Closed Locations:
Mighty Oaks Pub (locid 852)
North River Winery (locid 918)
Cleveland ChopHouse And Brewery (locid 294)
Pittsfield Brew Works (locid 1007)
Marble City Brewing (renamed)
Sugarloaf Brewing Co/ Theos Restaurant (locid 3177)
Charleston Brewing Co (locid 278)
Ramapo Valley Brewery (locid 1052)
Sherwood Forest Brewers (locid 1193)
Taylor Brewing Co (locid 1306)
Harrison's Brewery and Restaurant (locid 573)
Millrose Restaurant and Brewing Co (locid 855)
