Add Beer Maps to your Blog or Site
Is your beer blog boring? Are your readers suffering from some attention deficit issues? Well, have we got an offer for you! For the low low price of $9.99 0 dollars you can offer a bit more usability and interest to your posts with maps! Beer Maps!
We here at the Beer Mapping Project are proud to offer beer blog writers (and other beer lovers with sites) the ability to apply a proximity map to their blog or site. The process requires only a few minutes of your time if you are adding a map to a wordpress or blogger blog. And if you are running a site that isn’t in blog format, the coding process is almost as easy.
Here is a walk-through that will teach you a thing or two about how easy the process is. Or if you are daring you can simply copy and paste the code below and try to figure it out for yourselves! (I know which one I would probably do…)
<iframe src="http://beermapping.com/maps/blogproxy.php?locid=2158&d=1" width="450" height="300"></iframe>
The example map below is centered on the Rogue Public House in Portland Oregon.
The maps will have the same functionality as the map you can see above. It will allow your blog readers to be able to get directions or find out phone, address or website information for locations on the map. They also have all of the expected functionality that you would expect from google maps. Zoom in, zoom out, pan and drag are all supported functions of these maps. Play around with the one above if you are not familiar with google maps (and if you’ve never seen google maps you should check out this cool new website called wikipedia.org too!).
Just as a note: because these are using iframes the maps will likely not show up as content when your blog posts appear in an aggregator. This isn’t really a big deal, you just will need to offer some “caption text” to let the reader know that in order to see the map they will need to actually visit your site.
