Review System Teaser

I have been working on a beer location review system (with the help and feedback from our forums members). You can feel free to follow the discussion and check out a few more “work in progress” images in this forums thread.

The reviews or scores will be viewable from both the map and through this main site. You will use the lookup feature here and the results that are returned will have a link to read reviews or see scores for the location that you searched for. The reviews page will look a bit like the following screenshot.

The image above is of a working version of the review system. Since this is the first time I have written anything like this, there are probably some serious bugs that need to be worked out. But hopefully there will be a system up and running that you can use in the near future.

The review system will be available only to registered users of the forums. So, feel free to go ahead and register there before someone steals your username: “beerman2343″

Here are some examples of things that we should be able to do when we get the review system up and running:

Show statistics of top reviewed locations
Create a map of the top 50 locations in your country
Create a map of the top 25 locations in a certain city
Give more “weight” on certain areas of a map where there are highly ranked locations
Drop locations off of the maps that receive a certain number of poor reviews (most likely not a great beer destination)
Heat maps!

There are many many more options that will be available to us with these new features.
