Beer Mapping Spreads Like the Common Cold

Ok, I have a new vision. Please bear with me if your visions do not include spreading the word of good beer through the use of printers and the internet. Maybe I’m just odd?

I have added printer friendly pages to the maps and the lookup/search page (example here or just click the image below). This is basically just a profile page for each brewery, brewpub, beer bar, beer store or homebrew store located in the beermapping.com database. I tried to keep the page as simple as possible while still including a map so it will be easy to print these pages if you are headed to certain destinations.

The image below is an example of “print preview” on a new printer friendly profile page. I’m demonstrating this with the profile of one of the best beer bars in the world. Click on the image to jump to the profile page for the Map Room in Chicago!

So here is where my “vision” comes in. You, the beer mapping project user, will occasionally decide to visit a new beer destination. You will visit the site and find the location either manually scanning the maps, or through the lookup features. As a bit of extra insurance, you will decide to use the “printer friendly view” (available either by clicking the pin on the map or on the lookup page) and you will print out the profile page and head off on your trip.

Upon arriving you will enjoy yourself and have a new beer experience. As you leave, satisfied at a job well done, you will accidentally leave the printout of the location you have visited on the bar. Luckily though, the next person who sits on your bar stool will have a bit of a curious nature and they will check out the profile page that you accidentally left behind. Their curiosity will lead to us having one more beer mapping project user. Hopefully their visit to the site will encourage them to find a few new beer experiences of their own!

I predict that with the help of you and your printer (use the ones at work!) the beer mapping project will infect a few more users!
